Cou Cou Studio bio picture

Welcome to Cou Cou Studio ©

Cou Cou Studio is based in Missoula, Montana and provides wedding photography in Missoula and across the state.  At Cou Cou Studio © we believe in modern photos with stories to tell.  Happy, funny, breathtaking, ridiculous stories.  On a scale of importance from 1 to 10 we rate creativity with a 23.  We are obsessed with making clients ecstatic and consistently exceeding expectations.  We believe you share in our love of life, frivolity and fantastic photography.  And a day-in-day-out fascination with color, composition and artistic expression for good measure.

So let's start a conversation.  Let's start talking about what kind of images you believe in.  What kind of moments you want to freeze and how Cou Cou Studio © can be a part of them.  Every story has to start somewhere.  We hope yours starts with us.  You can also follow us on Twitter or fan us on Facebook.

Joyce and Jason :: Tea Ceremony :: Montana Wedding

After their wedding Glacier Park but before the reception, Joyce and Jason took part in a traditional tea ceremony at the Haymoon Ranch Resort in Whitefish.  Joyce changed into a traditional gown and the couple shared tea with their parents and relatives.  It was a beautiful way to celebrate their lives together and honor their elders.  Thanks to Lindsey Jane Photography for having me work as a second shooter on this wedding.  Check back soon for reception photos.

Joyce & Jason :: Glacier National Park Wedding:: Montana

Joyce and Jason were married July 3rd in Glacier National Park at the Apgar Amphitheater.  It really did rain up until the last possible moment before their ceremony.  But as soon as the guests began to arrive from the school bus that brought them into the park, the clouds parted, and the sun shone.  Their ceremony was beautiful beneath the wet trees in front of Lake McDonald.  Check back tomorrow for scenes from their reception and tea ceremony at the Haymoon Resort in Whitefish.  Congrats you two and thanks to Lindsey Jane Photography for letting me be a second shooter on this wedding!

Claire and Phil :: Kalispell, Montana Wedding :: Beautiful Outdoor Wedding

Claire and Phil were such a fun couple to hang with on their wedding day.  They were married at a private home in Kalispell, Montana near Foy’s Lake.  After literally WEEKS of rain, there was finally a sunny Montana day for their wedding.  The groomsmen had fly ties for boutineers and all of them caught a fish in the fish pond at the wedding site before the ceremony.  I love their modern birdie cake and cupcakes.  And their candy table with a jar of M&Ms (the first candy they shared together) was a great idea.  So cute!  I had so much fun being a part of their special day.  Congrats you two!

Nate and Jasmine :: Bigfork, Montana Wedding

Nate and Jasmine’s Bigfork wedding was such a fun day to be a part of.  They were married at The Little Brown Church in Bigfork. Montana and then held their reception at Clementines.  Their friends and family were so nice and welcoming and we had a great time shooting all of their fun.  Thank you guys for such a fun day and congrats to you both!

Meuter Family Portraits

After a month of crazy travel I’m finally getting a chance to post this fun family portrait session from April!  The Meuters are such a cool family and I was so happy I was able to spend an afternoon photographing them at their home in Whitefish.  Despite the rain we were able to get outside for most of the shoot.
Melissa is expecting their second child this month and I know they are all excited to meet the next Meuter!  Thanks for a fun afternoon and congrats guys!

Sneak Preview: Claire and Phil

Here’s a sneak preview of Claire and Phil’s Montana wedding last weekend that I shot as a second shooter for Lindsey Jane Photography.  After a month of rain the sun finally came out, and what perfect timing.  Beautiful couple.  Beautiful ceremony.  More to come.

Rainy Day Engagement Session – St. Louis, Missouri

I spent last weekend in St. Louis, Missouri.  In September I’m shooting the wedding of Becca and Kurt and I couldn’t be more excited.  They are such a fun and easy going couple.  We had a great time during their engagement session despite lots of rain and a tornado warning.  These two just rolled with the punches (and the high winds).  We started off at lunch in the Central West End at Pi and then headed to Forest Park for some outdoor shots until the weather was just too much.  You know it’s time to end the photo shoot when it starts hailing.  After regrouping on Sunday we made the best of the rain.  Check it out!

Thanks for the rainy day adventure (or adventure weekend) you two.  So great to see you both and I can’t wait to be there for the wedding in September.  Congrats!

Expecting: Rebecca

You couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day yesterday on Whitefish Lake.  By the end of this photo shoot I was in just a t-shirt.  Amazing.  Even more amazing is the lovely Ms. Rebecca.  She is expecting her little girl Madeline in April.  We spent some time yesterday outside on the shoreline shooting her before the baby comes.  I’m so looking forward to meeting little Madeline.  Congrats Bec!

Save the Date Fun!

I’ve been a little slow to update things here on the blog.  Wintertime means lots of administrative work and less shooting for my typically.  But I did have the chance to work on this fun save the date postcard for Katie and Keith.  I can’t wait to be there to shoot their wedding this summer.  Congrats guys!

Weekend Fun!

Here’s a sneak preview of some of the fun we’ll be showing tomorrow (Saturday Feb. 20th) at the NW Montana Wedding Expo in Kalispell.  Come by our booth, say hi, and check out all the other wonderful vendors while you’re at it.  We’ll be happy to answer any questions you might have and can’t wait to meet everyone.  See you soon!
