Cou Cou Studio bio picture

Welcome to Cou Cou Studio ©

Cou Cou Studio is based in Missoula, Montana and provides wedding photography in Missoula and across the state.  At Cou Cou Studio © we believe in modern photos with stories to tell.  Happy, funny, breathtaking, ridiculous stories.  On a scale of importance from 1 to 10 we rate creativity with a 23.  We are obsessed with making clients ecstatic and consistently exceeding expectations.  We believe you share in our love of life, frivolity and fantastic photography.  And a day-in-day-out fascination with color, composition and artistic expression for good measure.

So let's start a conversation.  Let's start talking about what kind of images you believe in.  What kind of moments you want to freeze and how Cou Cou Studio © can be a part of them.  Every story has to start somewhere.  We hope yours starts with us.  You can also follow us on Twitter or fan us on Facebook.

St. Louis Wedding – Getting Ready

Becca and Kurt are such nice people and I was really thrilled to be able to shoot their wedding in St. Louis earlier this Fall.  Both of their families were extremely warm and welcoming and you could tell how excited they really were for the wedding.  Today’s post covers  each of them getting ready at their respective parents’ home.  Check it out and come back tomorrow for photos from the wedding at a beautiful historic church in downtown St. Louis.

Holland Lake Lodge Wedding Part II

Here’s part two of Erin and Rob’s wedding at Holland Lake Lodge.  Such a great couple and such a fun wedding and reception.  I was so thankful to be a second shooter at this event for Lindsey Jane Photography.  They had ridiculously great weather and their book-themed reception was absolutely adorable.  I was really obsessed with their book center pieces.  And the typewriter/guest book where people sent them sweet notes was a fantastic idea.  So cute!  I hope you guys enjoy this fun wedding as much as I did!

Holland Lake Lodge Wedding

Rob and Erin tied the knot this Summer at Holland Lake Lodge.  I was thrilled and very thankful to Lindsey Jane Photography for having me as a second shooter at this wedding.  Their writing and book themed reception was absolutely adorable.  Check in tomorrow for pics from their cute DIY reception.  Till then enjoy these pics of Summertime and love at the lake.

St. Louis Wedding Preview

Here’s a little sneak peek at what’s to come from Becca and Kurt’s romantic St. Louis wedding.  A girl couldn’t ask for a nicer pair to photograph.  More photos to come as I wrap up editing this fun event.

St. Thomas Wedding: Trash the Dress

You know what’s awesome?  Brides and grooms jumping into the ocean.  And that’s just what Tammy and Troy did after they got married in St. Thomas.  Waiting a couple days for the rain to clear as a great choice that made for a fun session walking through downtown and ending up in the water.  Devon and I couldn’t have asked for a more fun couple to wander through the old cobblestone streets with.  From the sweltering temperatures to getting the dress dirty, Tammy and Troy were up for anything.  And best of all, according to the bride: a little trip to the dry cleaners made this wedding dress as good as new post ocean adventure.  Thanks for such a fun shoot you two!

Montana Maternity Shoot: Heidi and Casey

Heidi and Casey are such a genuinely nice couple.  So shooting a maternity session for them was really a treat.  Add in some mountains and a sunset, and it was photo heaven.  The two welcomed Henry at the end of this summer and I’m so happy for them.  That little guy couldn’t ask for nicer parents.  Congrats guys!

St. Thomas Wedding Reception

Rainy weather wasn’t going to put a damper on this wedding reception.  Tammy and Troy celebrated with friends and family at a rented villa in St. Thomas.  This was such a great group of folks and you could really tell how much they value family.  The sweet, intimate reception was a perfect mix of dinner, dancing, and toasts (including a fantastic one led by Uncle Moe).  From the island rum to the ocean themed cake, this tropical wedding was a fantastic celebration of love and family in the islands.
Check back next week for some shots from Tammy and Troy’s trash the dress session in St. Thomas.  In the mean time hop on over to see Devon Morgan’s work at Photosynthesis Studio.  This wedding weekend wouldn’t have happened with out her or the great organizing skills of A Big To Do Event Planning.

St. Thomas Wedding: Ceremony at Maegens Bay

Today we have more photos from Tammy and Troy’s St. Thomas wedding that I shot earlier this year with Devon from Photosynthesis Studio.  Tammy and Troy’s St. Thomas wedding took place at Maegens Bay.  If you haven’t been there, stop what you are doing right now, book a ticket to the Caribbean, and make it happen.  No really — it’s beautiful.  Troy is originally from St. Thomas and it was special to him that the ceremony took place at this particular beach.  The oncoming storm held out till after the ceremony was complete (thanks to Erica’s “No Rain Dance”).  You know it’s a lucky couple when the bride says after the ceremony “I thought all the flashes were you guys taking pictures.”  Nope — that was lightning.  No worries though, the happy couple made it through their ceremony without the rain putting a damper on things.  Check back tomorrow for photos from the beautiful villa reception.

St. Thomas Wedding Part 1: Getting Ready and First Looks

Earlier this year I had the pleasure of shooting Tammy and Troy’s St. Thomas wedding for Photosynthesis Studio (ie: rockstar friend and photographer Devon Morgan).  The couple rented out a villa on the island to stay in for the week and then host the wedding reception.  The wedding was coordinated by Erica from A Big To-Do Event Planning.   She did a smashing job dealing with driving on the opposite side of the road and managing wedding details at the same time.  The following are a few images of the couple getting ready and seeing each other before the ceremony.  Check back tomorrow for their gorgeous ceremony at Maegens Bay.  More island fun to come!

Show & Traveling

I am hitting the road today heading to Missoula, MT for a show of my work at Miss Zula’s on Higgens.  If you are in town there tonight stop by and say hello.  After that it’s on to Bozeman and Yellowstone where I will be out of cell phone and email range while I camp with friends and take a little downtime.  If you don’t hear back from me next week that’s why.  I’ll be back in the office September 13th returning calls.  See you then!
